Socials & Classes in Boulder, CO
If you're a parent with young children, click to visit our Family Programs page here!
You are open-minded and aha-oriented. You love to be social and to inspire others while being inspired. You are energized at the thought of making a difference in the world, and you have ideas brewing for how you can make a contribution, or maybe you're already acting on those ideas. You love our Sacred House "spiritual autonomy" approach, because you too believe that our ultimate answers come from within.
Spirituality at Sacred House is simply a set of practical and non-mysterious tools for feeling deeply alive and connected to yourself, others and something larger that connects us all. Whether you think of yourself as "spiritual" or not, from the Sacred House perspective, everyone is spiritual because we each have our own blueprint for finding answers and creating our most fulfilling lives. When you live by this "recipe", you live the life that will bring you great satisfaction, and you'll enjoy the ride with others like you along the way.
At Sacred House we grow together, cultivate dreams and inspire one another.
We invite you to our Events & Classes below!
Socials & Classes - August, 2016
Sunday Social, August 7th: Sheng Zhen - The Qigong of Unconditional Love with special guest Miles Nichols
This Sunday we're excited to welcome back Miles Nichols, a Sheng Zhen Qi-Gong instructor!
Sheng Zhen is known as the Qi-Gong of Unconditional Love. The movements of Sheng Zhen work with the human energy/chakra system in order to help us access the peace, joy, and love that are often laying dormant in the body. They also increase flexibility, improve blood circulation, support the immune system, and help to create a feeling of mental balance and centeredness.
Miles studies with the world-renowned Sheng Zhen Master Li Junfeng (who is offering a retreat in Colorado in late September) and is a licensed acupunturist with a speciality in Chinese Herbs. He last joined us in January - we can't wait to see what he brings this time! You can learn more about Miles' practice and his teacher's retreat in September on Miles' website here.
Details: Please arrive at Shine Restaurant's Gathering Place (2027 13th Street in Boulder) at 11:00 am so we can start at 11:15 am. Socials are free of charge. Sunday Social, August 14th: Music As Spirituality with Celia Gary
This week's social features local singer-songwriter Celia Gary!
Music is a time-honored way of tapping into that something larger that connects us all. Even science now shows that at the deepest level, we all exist as vibration. For Celia, music has been a close "friend" for most of her life, and she is passionate about helping others develop the same kind of connection. Celia will guide us in a musical experience that we'll all create together. Come for an interactive exploration of your musical side - even if you don't think you have one! We'll help you find your own rhythm and tune.
Details: Please arrive at Shine Restaurant's Gathering Place (2027 13th Street) between 11:00 am and 11:15 am so we can start promptly at 11:15 am. Socials are free of charge. $10 suggested donation. The event ends around 12:30 pm with organic brunch, snacks or tea afterward.

Sunday Social, August 21st: Dream Launching Party!
This Sunday's Social is a short, sweet get-together where we will get excited about our own dreams and giving some love to the dreams of our whole community. Becoming the creator of your life doesn't have to mean tediously repeating positive words or taking a daily dive into the pain of your past (although those things can be useful sometimes too). At the Dream Launching Party we'll help you step into your personal power in a joyful and playful way with light-hearted games and chances for reflection. Connect, have fun, and bring a little light to your morning, which will shine naturally down the road of your life.
Details: Please arrive at Shine Restaurant's Gathering Place (2027 13th Street) between 11:00 am and 11:15 am so we can start promptly at 11:15 am. Socials are free of charge. $10 suggested donation. The event ends at 12:15 pm, with organic community brunch, snacks or tea afterward.
Sunday, August 28th: Circus Juggling As A Spiritual Practice with Special Guest Sven Jorgensen
This week, we are SO excited to have Sven Jorgensen of the Boulder Circus Center come in to teach Juggling as a spiritual practice. No previous experience with juggling and no coordination needed, this is for all ages, all abilities and everyone will be able to participate and have fun.
In Sven’s words, “Juggling is not about catching and throwing so much as the willingness to let things fall.” Sven has been playing hide and seek with gravity for over 27 years. As a master circus artist who earns his living by amazing audiences around the world, Sven has always experienced juggling as much more than learning and performing cool tricks.
In addition to being incredibly playful and fun, juggling is a very powerful standing meditation with numerous benefits. By stimulating cross-hemisphere communication in the brain, juggling calms the nervous system and naturally induces the meditative brain state that is so critical to well being. In this way, it can be used to release trauma from the body, build new neural pathways, and reduce stress levels to restore higher brain function. Metaphorically, juggling teaches us that there is no failure, only opportunities to observe and improve. Physically, juggling is a gentle form of exercise that builds coordination, self-confidence, and brain health. Spiritually, juggling brings us fully into the present moment and provides a feedback mechanism that helps us find center and stay centered. The benefits of this playful art go on and on.
Not everyone will be hooked on juggling, but the lessons learned in this social can be applied to any practice that you choose to engage. Come interact and play while discovering your inner awesomeness!
