Hi, I'm the Founder of Sacred House and the Lead Facilitator for our 6-Month Challenge. In my three-decade journey as a career singer-songwriter, then a trainer teaching life coaching skills to parole officers, and now an interspiritual minister for Sacred House (I was ordained at the two-year One Spirit Interspiritual Seminary in New York), I've worked with thousands of people and learned tremendous lessons which all come together in our 6-Month Challenge programming so that you can step up, show up and be the change in the world that you want to see...

I have to tell you, I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to creating "next big things". Businesses, movements... this is not my first rodeo. The biggest lesson that I've learned is that the process of bringing something to fruition works simultaneously on two levels. There is the nitty gritty level of action steps and making stuff happen. But then there is the deeper place - your quiet center within that connects you with your core creative energy and guides you as you take those actions. That quiet center  - it's everything. Without it, you cast about, taking action without your full power. But when you live and create from your center - that steady, unshakeable place within where your REAL answers and guidance reside - that's when the rubber really hits the road, and every action is potent, every action moves you quantum leaps forward.

I had this aha back in the mid-2000's. I had been a performing singer-songwriter for a decade, but I stopped because I was burned out. In my performer hey-day, I was a golden child of sorts in the Detroit music scene - newspaper and magazine critics wrote about me as the local chick who would make it big... "Lisa Hunter is really going somewhere." Funny thing, I always had a feeling that I wouldn't. Not because of talent, but because it felt like I was missing something essential to bringing that big vision and dream to life. Years later, after experiencing intense burnout, I began to find my own unique spiritual path. And that's when it hit me - "Ohhhh. If I had 'made it' back then, I wouldn't have been able to handle it. Not without a strong inner center to keep me steady, aligned and resourced to my own true nature and power. I might have become a drug addict or had a nervous breakdown or gone down a path that was out of alignment with my integrity." In that moment, I realized that strong inner personal foundation is everything. This is why the 6-Month Challenge. We want you to have that strong center and power. And to make big stuff happen from that place.

When I'm not running Sacred House, you can find me officiating weddings, hiking in the gorgeous Colorado Rockies, playing music and spending good time with much-loved friends and family.

Hi! I'm honored to be part of the Sacred House core team in the role of building relationships within our Sacred House community and with our community partners here in Boulder, CO. As Sacred House has taken shape over the past years, we've increasingly recognized that we are part of a constantly evolving landscape of individuals and groups working to meet needs, make space for human connection and create positive change in the world. Check our Boulder calendar for the diverse lineup of guests who join us at our Boulder Sunday Socials, plus our monthly community service and social events. We believe deeply that the whole of Boulder is greater than the sum of its parts, and we join in that whole with open hearts.

During my first experience with Sacred House, I left the Social deeply grateful to have met and witnessed a group of people who were so sincere in their desire to be authentic, and I loved how the setting was designed to bring that authenticity out while also maintaining the warmth and connection that one usually only finds in practices with at least a little bit of dogma. My own journey has left me wary of rigid thinking, and Sacred House has provided a perfect space for me to explore my style for living from my center through diverse experiences without ever creating a feeling of impingement on my autonomy. Working on the team is already another exploration of myself and I'm really excited to see what I discover next!

My background: I graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Political Communications. I chose politics as a field of study because I wanted to make the world a better place, but by the time I finished my degree, I was disillusioned with the political process and the lack of authenticity that I felt from so many of my peers. I chose a totally different direction for myself after college, and have been studying yoga and energy work and have been teaching a Korean practice called Sundo for eight years. I work with clients to achieve mind/body integration, self-awareness and optimal energetic development through this practice. However, while I hold Sundo training close to my heart, I believe deeply that every human being has an individual path that can never be dictated externally. I love Sacred House because it provides a space for the exploration that is essential for anyone wanting to find their own "way".
