Tattoos, Guitars & Awakening with Lisa Hunter

Back in 1990, Sacred House Founder Lisa Hunter was a sophomore at the University of Michigan, depressed, suicidal and needing a lifeline. That's when she signed up for N.E.L.P. (New England Literature Program), and everything changed. That's because NELP was a rite of passage, really. The program itself was about reading works from New England authors like Thoreau, Emerson and Frost in the environment in which they wrote, but even more importantly, the six weeks immersion in wilderness and with thoughtful community of 30 others, opened Lisa's eyes to lessons that are integral to who she is, and that still guide her to this day. This Sunday, come hear about Lisa's experience of awakening and finding purpose, along with the nuggest of wisdom that changed her life and can change yours too.

Change-Maker For Real with Jess Cooley

Back in grad school, Jess Cooley was an eager student of international conflict resolution who wanted to change the world, so much so that she planned to continue on to get her Ph.D - her ultimate dream career. Then she spent time in Rwanda, and everything changed. Jess had to re-evaluate what it means to make real, true change, and as a result her path took a completely different direction. Along the way, she learned the art of paving her own path, and the courage to listen to her own deeper wisdom over the "shoulds" and "common sense" telling her otherwise. This Sunday, come hear about how Jess has become her own brand of change-maker, along with the nuggets of wisdom that changed her life and can change yours too.

More About Jess: Jess was a Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in neuromuscular therapy and somatic based mindfulness for seven years, then obtained certificates in Restorative Justice, Family Mediation, Non-Violent Communication, Integral Peacemaking, Narrative Therapy, and Socially Engaged Buddhism. In 2011, she completed my Masters of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, concentrating in narrative conflict resolution and genocide studies. During my Master's program I conducted original research in Rwanda, collecting the testimonies of victims, perpetrators and rescuers during the 1994 genocide. Currently in her private practice, she creates a nonjudgmental space for people where they can explore their stories and conflicts with curiosity in order to consider new options for self-identifying and re-authoring their struggles into more preferred realities. Change-Maker For Real with Jess Cooley

A public speaking expert’s journey using failure as a pathway to success.

Jon Block’s story is not an unfamiliar one for many of us - at a young age, he was teased and felt socially awkward, and thus grew up afraid of the spotlight. He worked various day jobs, like Applebee’s, all the while intending to bring his greater dreams to fruition. And then the big shift happened. He overcame his fear of public speaking. This shift was no accident though, as it was powered by his discovery of personal growth work, and the call to be bigger than his fears and self-doubts. Now Jon TEACHES public speaking! Come hear how Jon’s failures and challenges became the fuel for his thriving Speaker Venture business, and how he (and you can too), tunes out the noise and sea of external opinions to drop into a much deeper authentic expression to share with the world.

More About John: Over the last 6 years, Jon Block has mentored over 1500 entrepreneurs to use public speaking to dramatically grow their revenue and social impact. He's spoken on 500+ stages with the biggest leaders in the entrepreneur training and human potential movement. He was named 1 of the Top 20 conscious entrepreneurs of 2013. Finding Freedom Inside A Jail Cell with Caitlin Winkley

How one woman found true self-value in a jail cell by looking fear straight in the eye.

Caitlin Winkley had an epiphany in the most unlikely of places - a jail cell. She had committed a crime that she came to see as a direct result of her own lack of self-worth. While facing a potential 2-year sentence in prison, she realized that before jail even came into the picture, she had been keeping herself in her own mental prison through identifying with a fear-based belief system. Once able to look at, and heal, these fearful parts of herself, she was able to unlock the prison of her mind and live a drastically different life - a life of internal freedom. Now she teaches other to do the same. Come hear Caitlin's story and the powerful lessons that she learned - lessons that brought her to her purpose and inner center, and that can help you strengthen your own purpose and center too.

Purposeful Living from Nearly Dying w/Ryan Marchman

How a "near-life experience" set this man on his truest path and deepest mission...

When Ryan Marchman was just five years old, he nearly died. He was very sick and none of the doctors or nurses could figure out why. He spent seven days in the pediatric intensive care unit at a hospital in Gainesville, Georgia, where they told his parents that he was going to die and there was nothing they could do. And then he lived. He woke up one morning and was no longer in the ICU. He remembers that day in vivid technicolor because it was the day that changed his life. From then on, he lived with an insatiable desire to learn about and unravel the mysteries of illness and wellness, and of human behavior and potential. As a chiropractor now, and many other things along the way, Ryan has studied, lived and learned, but most of all, he knows what it is to have pointed focus from a key moment in life that unlocked his purpose. Come hear his story and life lessons, and shed light on your own purpose and mission too.

More About: Dr. Ryan Marchman is a teacher, healer and philosopher at The Adjustatorium in Boulder.
